Student Office Assistant
The two offices hiring are:
The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Advising Center, and
Advising & Career Services,
You are welcome to apply to either office or apply to both.
Scheduling appointments, in person and by phone
Providing referrals to other departments and offices
Checking in students for appointments and drop-ins
Photocopying and keeping handouts stocked (which requires travel between floors and buildings)
Assisting with other tasks as needed
Must be able to work independently and cover the front desk alone at times
Pay starts at $11.25, increasing to $12.00 July 1, 2018, with annual increases.
You must have work-study as part of your financial aid award for 2018-2019.
Total hours per week are determined by your work-study funds and typically will not exceed 5-8 hours per week. (Summer-only positions are available and will allow more hours per week.)
CLAS Advising Center cannot hire pre-medicine and pre-dentistry students. (All other pre-health students are welcome to apply.)
Who are we?
Advising & Career Services (ACS) provides academic advising for students exploring or changing majors, and career choice and job search support to all undergraduates, graduate students and alumni. ACS also supports employer engagement with the campus community. We are located on the fourth floor of the University Services Building.
The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Advising Office (CLAS Advising) provides academic advising for students with majors in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, as well as for students pursuing one of our pre-education or pre-health pre-professional programs. We are located on the third floor mezzanine of Smith Memorial Student Union.
